Dipec are delighted to be an AIM – Association of Independent Museums approved supplier.

AIM represents, connects and strengthens the UK’s network of independent museums, galleries and heritage organisations, and we’re delighted to be helping in that mission.

We’ve been providing museums, galleries and exhibitions across the UK with bespoke acrylic display solutions, combining our extensive experience, premium craftsmanship, and refined design to preserve, protect and present valuable artefacts.

We’re looking forward to continuing working with museums, large and small, to help improve their displays. And our solutions are perfectly suited in that mission. By utilising acrylic instead of traditional glass, our cases better meet the needs of most institutions who value quality, custom solutions but at a significantly lower cost than traditional glass.

Museums are swapping glass for acrylic

  • Acrylic is up to 17 times more impact resistant than glass.
  • It’s shatter-proof and is more resilient to cracking.
  • Around 50% lighter than their glass equivalent, miso easier to transport, install and reposition.
  • Light enough to be wall mounted, whereas most glass cases require robust support structure.
  • Acrylic provides exceptional transparency, offering 92% light transmission, which is higher than standard glass
  • Acrylic can be manufactured with UV-resistant properties
  • Our acrylic cases are highly customisable, allowing Dipec to create bespoke designs, custom shapes, tailored to each artefact.
  • Can be fitted with bespoke features like locking mechanisms, illumination, printed elements, and branding direct to the surface.
  • Acrylic is generally more cost-effective than glass.
If you’re wondering how best to display a valuable item, ensuring it’s kept safe, secure and protected from things like UV, discolouration or impacts, Dipec will be happy to help.

Working with AIM Members

The first museum we’ve worked with since becoming an approved AIM supplier is the Museum of Welsh Cricket in Cardiff. This museum required wall mounted displays for specific artefacts. Acrylic, being significantly lighter than glass, was perfect.
